Fish Larvae of the Black Sea

Fish larvae feeding of the Black Sea

Biodiversity preservation on our planet is one of the most urgent problems nowadays.

While studying the biodiversity, having a complete list of native biota species is of great importance.

Thorough analysis of fish feeding, food chains, and nutrition base is of significance for fishery development.

The most complete information about the amount of consumed food by fish larvae can be obtained after determining adaptive characteristics of feeding, daily diets as well as parameters of larvae weight growth compared to the abundance of the consumed organisms.

The purpose of our research is to work out and develop a data base for designing a system of estimation of monitoring observations over the changes in ichthyoplankton trophic structure for more than 50 year period, including studying of changes in the specific structure and seasonal dynamics of ichthyoplankton in the southwest coast of Crimea (the Sevastopol bay) in conditions of anthropogenous and climatic impact on the Sea biota.
